Bad Gyal RiRi; The Anti Album
Image by Live Nation via Live Nation {http://www.livenation.co.uk/venue/4489/stadio-san-siro-tickets}
So I've been literally listening to RiRi's album since the day it was released on Tidal. I must say, I love the direction she went in. It's still the "Raw Rihanna" we all know her to be. There's something about the vibe of it, I'm sure many could rock with it. Anti is the perfect title for a record like this. Rihanna gives off that I don't give a shit demeanor. She 100% keeps it all the way real with these lyrics.
For starters the way she released this album was Bad Ass. She basically gave it away. Make you wonder, What does this Pop Princess has in store for us next.
Lets get into "Anti"....
As I listen to a song like Consideration, one can only assume she's letting the world know that she does things her own way. One of my favorites is Kiss It Better, She sings about rekindling an old relationship. Many females can relate to a record like this. You may not have gotten it right the first time around. But who's to say the second time won't be worth the fight. The music and melody is great on the ears. Moving right along to "Woo". Have you ever been in an argument with your boyfriend or Ex and said, "you will never find another like Me?" or " I don't really care about you?" and not mean it. Basically she's letting him know just this. It starts of as sarcasm and towards the end of the song she lets him know she still loves him.
Did Rihanna just drop the latest female anthem with "Needed Me?" Some say this song is savage. She definitely goes hard with lyrics like But Baby, don't get it twisted You was just another nigga on the hit list Tryna fix your inner issues with a bad bitch. Didn't they tell you that I was savage? Fuck ya white horse and carriage. Bet you never could imagine Never told you, you could have it. I'm really feeling Yeah, I Said It, females shouldn't be afraid to tell their man how they want it sexually. She breaks it down Raw and Uncut. This next song is in heavy rotation on the radio and it also features Drake. Yes I'm talking about WORK. This track makes me want to get up and Wine my hips. Not to many understand what the Bad Gyal is saying because she speaking in Patois. Honestly it isn't hard to decipher. Open your ears a little bit, you'll understand her. In this song she wants a deeper connection with her man or significant other, meanwhile he's mostly interested in sex. I'm going to wrap it up with Sex With Me, these days females are bragging about their sex. They are letting him know that they have that "good good".
I didn't go through every song, overall RiRi is letting us know what she wants and how she wants it!!!

Before You Walk Out My Life
Being in relationships is hard work; I'm sure we can all agree to that. I'm
not an expert but I've heard, seen and experienced a lot. In some cases I wanted to smack some sense into people for what they put up with. As a little girl I figured out what I wanted and wasn't going to tolerate when I was old enough to date.
I've seen men treat woman like they were a pair of sneakers; one for
every outfit. When a pair got old, they tossed them in the back of the closet. Better yet they used them to play in. We females aren't any better. Some of us are stuck on how cute the guy is. Or on how much money he makes.
I understand the need of being attracted to someone. I will admit that
I am one to say, “Dang he's cute ". Growing up my mother would say, "get
over it. Cuteness will get you caught up, looks aren't everything". Don't get me wrong I agree.
But can we have some form of attraction? Now that I'm older I understand her
more. Females can be blind and naive.
http://youtu.be/hxQF3ELz6Ss
Here's a scenario: you meet a guy and not even 6 months later you guys
move in together. And you wonder why y'all are having issues x amount of years later. I always tell people younger than me. Male or female don't rush love. In most cases it not even love it's lust, obsession and just plan stupid. Become friends, date, know this person in and out before you commit. Ask questions like," how many people have you been with? “How is your relationship with your parents? Its true when people say, “if he doesn't respect his mother, he won't respect you".
Make sure he or she understands that you have friends, things shouldn't change because your with him. Its all about respect. You both should know and and understand boundaries.
You may have a past that he or she may or may not know about. If you choose to share it, be prepared. Most may not know how to deal with it. What you've shared with them should never be used to insult or disrespect you later on.

Don't get into a relationship where he/she is busy trying to dictate
or change you. If you like to hang out with your girls/guys don't
stop. But make sure you give him/her time as well. It's always give
and take in a relationship.Shoot for a 50/50 kind of relationship. If you guys like to go out, take turns paying. The guy should not have to pay for everything. Show him you want to and will maintain your independence. You don't ever want to lose who you are just to please anyone. There's always room for compromise. Have fun, learn and love.
It'll make things easier. Believe, things would run a lot smoother. But love is love, if we want it we have to work through it.

What Three Songs Would You Play For Someone That is Visually Impaired?
I was asked the following question a few days ago and I'm still stuck. What three songs would I choose to play for someone who is visually impaired?
My first choice would most definitely be Michael Jackson's " Man In The Mirror". My Second would be, "Wake Up Everybody". The Harold Melvin and The Blue Note or John Legend Version. For My third choice, I'd Pick a Lauryn Hill Song. One from her Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill album. Looking at the songs I chose. I'm thinking they are a bit deep. I would like to let this person know that despite my song choice there are things we could be happy about and celebrate as well.
So what three songs would you choose?

Keep Doing the Things You Did To Get Her, If You Want To Keep Her
source:massappeal.com
A relationship can wear you the hell down if you let it. In the beginning some fellas are pulling all the stops to get a females attention. They're taking her out, cooking for her, giving her massages and showering their lady with gifts. Men are actually interested in the things females like to talk about. Or a least it appears that way. We share the same interest, and have the same common goals. Holding hands, cuddling, kissing and foreplay didn't seem forced.

Over time when everyone is comfortable things start to change. Once they have us their good, their job is done. They no longer care about going the extra mile to please their woman. So why should they continue work so hard at it? Is that, they believe females aren't going anywhere? Did she do something that caused him to slack or turn him off? No a days females are moving on when he's no longer interested in the relationship. Who are we to blame?

Its that Time Again; New Yorkers Celebrate the 57th Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade
Yes Its finally here, A day to celebrate your heritage. The Streets are shutting down from 44th to 79th street along 5th ave; between the hours of 11 am and 6 pm. Its a sight to see the people, your people in unison dancing and cheering as the floats roll on by. Everyone singing one of our Anthems
"QUE BONITA BANDERA"
http://youtu.be/8-yXbQtixrQI remember growing up in Brooklyn NY watching everyone prepare for the festivities leading up to this day. Yep, The Puerto Rican Day Parade. I too have a since of pride being from Puerto Rican decent. That's right me and my dark brown skin and tight curly hair. We come in all shades, and sizes. This is what I love. While your enjoying the floats you glance over at the person next to you. Now look behind you and literally see a rainbow. My mother's mom was born and raised in P.R. I remember her making homemade Pasteles, I'm not sure how or why she made them at our request. Making them is such a tedious process. But worth the effort. She never said, no when we asked her to prepare a Hispanic dish. At the age that we are now, she'd still do it without hesitation.
The sweet sounds and dance. Salsa y Merengue was always on in the house. One our favorites was Elvis Crespo. He has hits, "suavemente, pinta me ". Just to name a few. I remember listening to El general and my grandmother saying she liked C&C Music Factory Boriqua anthem.
Over all today may be for Puerto Rican, But it also gives everyone else the opportunity to be apart of our culture through music, food, dance, and harmony.

How To Love
The things we do to ourselves because of our past hurts.
She grew up watching her parents fight, just about every weekend. A phone call with him asking her mom where she'd been? Which is how it usually started. She didn't have to hear the questions asked, because of her mothers response.
photo credit: Lil Wayne How to Love video
She'd say something like "Huh what are you talking about?" '' I've been here! "Where are you?'' At that moment She would get dress and get back in bed and wait. The phone calls would continue until he got there. It was on, when she heard the key in the door. Her heart would literally jump out her throat when she heard door open. She would lay there in bed and wait until she heard her mother screaming. At times she would try and break it up and other times she would leave. Imagine running out of the house just to get away from what was about to take place.

She may as well have been invisible. No one came to look for her nor did she get in trouble when she finally came back. They were so engrossed in their twisted love it sickened the hell out of her. The same man that stood up to take the position of her missing father, abused she and her mom with out a soul knowing.

She always wore a big bright smile regardless of the challenges and pain she endured behind those closed doors.

When you're hurt in every way possible by the people you trust, your heart becomes hardened and your ability to love and trust becomes a lifelong battle. You know the saying, " you don't know what you have until its gone ? " She was gradually losing a battle with love and trust and herself. She fought love all the the way around. This girl couldn't take constructive criticism. If she thought she was being disrespected she would go on defense mode. She couldn't hear, see or feel the love that was coming her way . She didn't want to trust it let alone accept it. Instead she challenged it. It got to a point where she was going to find herself, by herself. She prayed for a softened heart for years. At times she felt as if God didn't hear her cries.photo credit: Lil Wayne How to Love video
She questioned why would she be put in situations she couldn't and didn't know how to get herself out of. She was mad at the world because of her past hurts and could care less about the one who was trying to show her otherwise.
photo credit: Lil Wayne How to Love video
Fortunately for her God opened her eyes and her heart and she began to learn how to love..........

We may not get there today, tomorrow or the next day. As long as you fight for what you want an allow yourself to be loved. It won't be so hard to learn that all things is possible. Let go before its too late !

I Never Knew A Love Like This
http://youtu.be/BPTZVmJrIpo
Isn't awesome that you can listen to a song, and that song can uplift you?
Whenever I need spiritual guidance or inspiration. I shuffle through my Gospel favorites. At the end of my selections I'm either in tears because I feel the words were meant for me; or jamming because it feel so good to my soul.
When things were going to hell right before my eyes, my escape would be my music. Any time I hear someone call a female a bitch. I instantly hear Queen Latifah's, U.N.I.T.Y . That was the song to put a dude in check back in the day. Oh how I love my R&B . I have a song for every happy, sad, emotional, and exciting moment in my life. My boyfriend said I'm stuck in the 90's.
Because when I hear one of my jams I have turned it up and tell a story.
Music has changed so much. But I can always find a song for whatever mood I'm in. When I need to go to sleep and can't because I'm dealing with life's everyday stress; Music wraps its arms around me and sings me to sleep. Besides God, I can always count on it to get me through a trying day. I never knew a love like this...

Good Girl
Calling all "good girl's"! Do we still exist? I think we've been out numbered by these wanna be basketball, football wives and rapper wives.
We used to be the chase, now we're doing chasing. No longer looking for love but a come up or to gain status. Where are our goals? Do we not believe in our future anymore? What are we teaching our sons and daughters?
We're telling our young men, it's okay when a thirsty girl approach them.
Females are half naked and materialistic. Our daughters don't have a chance; because we are leading them in he wrong direction. We are suppose to be their role models.
We're telling our young men, it's okay when a thirsty girl approach them.
Females are half naked and materialistic. Our daughters don't have a chance; because we are leading them in he wrong direction. We are suppose to be their role models.
What ever happen to being established first? How can you figure out who your are when your busy trying to figure out your role in "your wanna be" relationship. We're no longer dating, but eager to give it up. You just told him you were easy. As a little girl we are taught to secure our purses. Stop giving away all your goods. Once they get in it, they no longer care abut how smart you are or about you having goals.
Guys are out here trying to be ballers or a boss without and education. Still living at home with their mommy. Don't have their own money, and your quick to share everything you have. Body and money. Your not telling them that they have to work hard to have a place in your life. Find a man that's eager to show you he can handle his own, while helping you achieve your goals. Fellas find a lady that have respect for herself and want something for her future.
Our generation is growing up so fast and in the wrong direction. We need to stop trying to please the person standing next to us, and focus on what we want out of life.
